Dubai Airports Announces Planned Runway Closure at DWC for April 2025
Dubai, October 3, 2024 – Dubai Airports has officially announced a scheduled closure of the main runway at Dubai World Central (DWC) for essential maintenance and patching work in April 2025. The closure, aimed at ensuring the highest operational standards, will take place in phases over three weeks.
According to the statement, airlines operating at DWC must strictly adhere to the planned shutdown schedule to avoid delays or diversions. The runway will be unavailable for arrivals and departures on the following dates:
📌 April 7 – April 10, 2025 (0900 LT – 2100 LT)
📌 April 14 – April 17, 2025 (0900 LT – 2100 LT)
📌 April 21 – April 24, 2025 (0900 LT – 2100 LT)
All airlines are urged to coordinate with the Airport Slot Coordinator (ACL) to arrange alternative plans for affected flights. Additionally, buffer periods have been established around the closure times to manage aircraft taxiing efficiently.
- No Arrivals: 0850 LT – 2105 LT
- No Departures: 0840 LT – 2045 LT
Dubai Airports has emphasized the importance of maintaining slot punctuality to prevent significant disruptions. The aviation community is encouraged to cooperate with the airport authorities to ensure a smooth transition during the maintenance period.
